Background

The club was created in 1995 with the purpose of training players for Hungarian women's basketball. By today, the growing section has developed the pyramid model that is the key to training talent.

The youth division has played a decisive role in adult NBI/B championships. Participating in adult games has resulted in an enormous amount of experience for these 16-18-year-old players. As a result of these experiences, we launched a younger division in the coming championship season in the adult NB II.

Acknowledged experts in talent training, Sándor Tursics and Krisztina Tursicsné Iván are directing the professional work of producing replacements for the sport. Training takes place in age divisions, along a well-developed curriculum, following a plan. Practice location is the sports hall in Csaba utca of the 13th district of Budapest, which the owner, the local government, provides to the club free of charge, as well as the gym of the Erzsébet utcxa elementary school, which we are allowed to use for a fee.

The point competition announced by the Hungarian Basketball Federation bears witness to the high level of quality of the professional work.

In 2004, each graduated player of the championship youth team received an offer from Hungarian leading teams. Our team consisting of youth players participated in the Hungarian Cup series of games, where it proved to be a worthy opponent to the best in the country.   The Ministry of Children, Youth and Sports in its talent development program, the Heracles Program, 14 competitors and one coach is representing the club.

In the July of 2004, in the Bratislava Youth European Championship finals, the Hungarian youth team, based on the A Csata DSE team (9 players represented the club out of the 12 players), breaking with the streak of no medals in the previous ten years, received a bronze medal!

Thus in 2005, a Hungarian team was finally able to participate in a U19 world championship, where our team placed 8th!

Professional work

In August of every year, we begin training for the tasks we face with an approximately 2-week training camp. This affects nearly 80 players participating in the child, teen, cadet, and junior age groups. In September, we start to intensively select 8-10-year-olds for the so-called prep groups. An important part of our professional program is that in this year, we would like to increase the number of these teams, so in some districts of Budapest - such as Rákoskeresztúr, Újpalota, and II. districts - we are starting new teams. Competing is a significant portion of our professional program. The child and teen age groups compete in championships of the appropriate age divisions, and we also enter our cadet and youth teams in adult competitions, because this is the only way we can provide the kind of challenge that is necessary for reaching international level. Naturally, they also participate in age-appropriate championships. In order to reach international levels, we also require foreign relationships, so each year we compete with the best Slovak team, and we also maintain a relationship with Belgian, Swedish, Serbian and Romanian partners. It would be desirable to maintain a relationship with overseas colleges as well, but were prohibited due to the significant financial costs involved.

Our players, who won championships as members in one of our replacement teams, and got into the finals:

Deák Éva

In 2004, our difficulties significantly decreased when MKB Euroleasing took on a role in supporting us. Thus, in 2005, Éva Deák joined the team of coaches, who as a select basketball player provides a role model for the girls. With her leadership, basketball coaching is now available in the Pasaréti út sports complex.

In 2006, (thanks to the financial and moral support from MKB Euroleasing), the path to A group was opened! However, we are expanding in other directions as well, and have trained our previous players as coaches, and launched preparatory teams in various locations.
